Storyectomy* is a community-driven mental health initiative using the art of storytelling and comedy to provide light, love, and healing.

For six weeks of FREE classes, students will meet at The Crow to work on structure and performance empowering them to tell their stories in a personal and effective way. Led by Nicole Blaine (owner of The Crow and comedic storyteller), classes meet at The Crow in Santa Monica. The final storytelling show features students alongside professional comedians that have also been affected by the topic.

Healing comes from release.

Storyectomy* was started as an innovative and supportive way for cancer survivors, thrivers, healthcare professionals, and caregivers to share and connect.

We partner with various companies and government entities to keep classes FREE to participants.

Our first seasons have been met with an incredible response, and we are excited to continue building our community.

We’re Expanding!

Inspired by the success of Storyectomy’s initial seasons, we are broadening our scope.

Coming in May 2024, we welcome Storyectomy* Family Pride: a season focusing on stories about LGBTQ+ experiences, anything from coming out to adopting a child and all that’s in between.

Applications for Storyectomy* Family Pride are open until Friday, April 26 at 11:59 PM.
